1. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to all quotes and work by Geddes Electrics CC (Reg. 2009/132051/23) (“Geddes Electrics CC”, “we”) and to the use of this website. If a written quote says something different, the quote wins.
2. Quotes
- Quotes are valid for 30 days unless the quote says otherwise.
- Quotes are based on what we can see. If we find hidden problems once work starts, we tell you and agree the extra cost with you before doing it.
- Material prices can change. We will warn you before any change affects your price.
3. Payment
- For jobs with a lot of material, we may ask for a deposit. This will be on the quote.
- The balance is due when the work is done, unless we agreed otherwise in writing.
- Materials stay our property until they are paid for in full.
4. Call-outs
A call-out or assessment fee may apply, especially after hours. We tell you what it is before we come out.
5. Certificates of Compliance
A Certificate of Compliance is issued once the installation meets SANS 10142 and the account is paid. If faults must be fixed first, we quote on those separately.
6. Guarantee
- Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date the job is finished.
- Materials and appliances carry the manufacturer’s own warranty.
- The guarantee does not cover damage from power surges, lightning, load shedding, misuse, or work done afterwards by someone else.
- Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act are not affected by these terms.
7. Access and safety
Please give us safe access to the work area and the distribution board, and tell us about anything we should know (pets, alarms, past electrical problems). We may stop work if a site is unsafe.
8. Liability
We are responsible for loss caused by our negligence. We are not liable for indirect losses such as loss of income, or for existing faults in an installation we did not work on, as far as the law allows.
9. This website
Information on this website is general and may change without notice. Photos may show the type of work we do rather than a specific job. Prices are only binding once given in a written quote.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
